A Reminder: Give Him Glory

A Reminder to Exalt Jesus
The week before we sold our home, I was sitting on a bench in the park across the street from our house. It was on my heart to rest with the Lord and take in the beautiful landscape.
As I sat there, I believe the Lord put it on my heart to take a picture. So I did, not really knowing what I would do with it.
I strolled back home with little awareness or concern regarding the photograph. I don't even think I looked at it after taking it.
That night, I believe the Lord woke me up and prompted me to look at the picture. So I did.
To me, it was immediately clear. I saw letters.
As I looked at the photograph, I prayed and asked the Lord to bring Scripture to my mind. I was reminded:
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:10–11 (KJV)
Next, I began researching what the letters IHC might mean. I discovered that IHC is a historical form associated with an early Christian abbreviation of the Greek name for Jesus, ΙΗΣΟΥΣ (Iēsous).
Early Christian scribes used abbreviated forms of sacred names in biblical manuscripts. The Greek letters ΙΗΣ, representing the beginning of Jesus' name, are associated with the forms IHS and IHC in Christian history.
Praise God!
I cannot explain the formation of the letters in the sky, nor can I say with certainty why I felt prompted to take that photograph. But I believe the Lord used that moment to remind me of a beautiful and eternal truth:
Jesus Christ is Lord, and one day every knee will bow and every tongue confess His name.
Scripture also tells us that Jesus will return.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:3 (KJV)
Although we do not know the day or hour of His return (Matthew 24:36), we can rest in His promise.
Jesus is King. He is coming again. And for those who belong to Him, what a glorious hope we have!
As I reflect on that afternoon in the park, I am reminded that sometimes we become so occupied with the responsibilities and transitions of life that we forget to stop, rest in His presence, and give Him glory.
I had no idea what I would see when I took that photograph. But I am grateful for the reminder it brought to my heart.
Jesus is worthy of our worship, our praise, and our lives.
Whether you have walked with Jesus for years or are still wondering who He is, I invite you to pause for a moment and consider His name.
The Bible tells us:
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13 (KJV)
What a beautiful invitation!
This is your reminder that the most important thing on your to-do list today is to exalt Him.
Consider stopping right now, acknowledging that Jesus Christ is Lord, and giving Him glory.
